Ronald Allen Brown, Sr., 62, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, March 3, 2017, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2017, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Steve Hand and the Rev. Ronny Griner officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Brown was born November 4, 1954, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Otis Shelton & Annie Dell Ingram Brown. He lived in the community all of his life and worked as a handyman, specializing in painting and carpentry. He enjoyed watching baseball and football. He loved to garden and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Glenda Harris Brown of Fitzgerald and her mother, Margie Harris of Fitzgerald; his two sons: Ronald A. Brown, II and Shawn Henry Brown, both of Fitzgerald; siblings and their spouses: Johnny Brown, Bill Brown, Gene & Dianne Brown, Glenda Cravey, Janie Grantham, and J.C. Brown, all of Fitzgerald; Jerry Brown of California, Wayne & Vicki Brown of Ocilla, Mack Brown of Hazlehurst, Barbara Hagedorn of Alabama, Charles Prickett of Macon, Yvonne Weinstein of Jacksonville, Florida, and Tina Roper of Hilton Head, South Carolina; and a brother-in-law, David & Ann Harris of Rebecca. Many nieces and nephews also survive including a special niece, Tammy Brewer of Ty Ty. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Ann McCrimmon; four brothers: Tommy Brown, David Brown, Henry Brown, and Delle Brown; and his father-in-law, Clyde Harris.
