Arthur W Guptill Jr, 76, a resident of Lawrence, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Born in Lawrence, Arthur graduated from Lawrence High School. Arthur worked at Davis and Furber as a machinist. He enjoyed traveling and was a diehard New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed playing 45’s and was an all-star softball and baseball player in his hey day.
Arthur is survived by his long-time companion Elizabeth “Beth” Vancoppenolle, daughters Cheryl Guptill and Christina Kimball, and sons Arthur Guptill and Christopher Giallongo. Arthur is also survived by his ex-wife Barbara (Silva) Guptill, sisters Ruth, Lillian & Joanie. He is predeceased by his sister Rosie. Arthur’s family members include several nieces and nephews along with six grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in St. Lucy’s Church, 254 Merrimack Street, Methuen, MA 01844. A mercy meal will be held at the Lo Kai, 1655 Lakeview Ave, Dracut, MA 01826, shortly thereafter. All are invited to attend. Arrangements are under the direction of the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., North Andover and Lawrence, Massachusetts.
