Nancy Janette Phelps Goins of Phoenix, Arizona passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, in Sedona, Arizona. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, in the Memorial Chapel of Tifton's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Myers officiating. Mrs. Goins will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 11, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the Memorial Chapel of Tifton’s First Baptist Church.
Born June 7, 1957 in Pinellas County, Florida, Mrs. Goins was the daughter of Janette Reinhardt Phelps of Tifton and the late Elmore V. Phelps. One of Nancy’s greatest loves was traveling to Sedona, Arizona to enjoy its beauty, so it was very fitting that she passed away there. She was actively involved in Toastmasters in Arizona and currently served as the Area Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Marketing. She was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her mother, Mrs. Goins is survived by her husband, Steven Darrell Goins of Phoenix, Arizona; and her brother, Richard Phelps of Jacksonville, Alabama.
