SOMERSET – Gabriel E. Travassos, age 84 of Somerset, passed away on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at home with his family by his side. Born in Bretanha, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Manuel E. & Maria Jose (Travassos) Monte. He was also the beloved husband of Manuela (Pereira) Travassos. Prior to retiring, Gabriel had worked as a Construction Laborer for Cardi Corporation of RI.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children: Grace Travassos of Fall River, Antone Travassos and his wife Susan of Lincoln, MA, Gabriela Cuttle and her husband Al of Fall River, Luciano Travassos of Somerset, & Frank Travassos and his companion Elizabeth Duarte of Somerset; siblings: Isabel Camara of Fall River, Julieta Carvalho of New Bedford, & Vasco Travassos of Dartmouth; grandchildren: Jennifer, Alfred, Paul, Nikole, Kelsey, & Christopher; several nieces & nephews. He was the brother of the late Maria H. Medeiros, Gloria Medeiros, & Manuel Travassos.
His private funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River, MA.
