Genevieve M. (Gonet) Vieira, 89, of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday March 1, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Adolph P. Vieira.
Born in Dartmouth, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Helen (Ziobro) Gonet, she lived in Dartmouth all of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Mrs. Vieira was formerly employed as a secretary at the Cushman School in Dartmouth until her retirement.
She was an amazing cook, who grew her own fruits and vegetables, and raised livestock. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Shea and her husband Peter of Dartmouth; two grandchildren, Aimee and Joshua Shea; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Ellis, and Pheonix; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Jane Vieira, and the sister of the late Kasimir, Stanley,and Walter Gonet.
Her Funeral will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM from the the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Parish Center, South Dartmouth at 10:30 AM.
