FALL RIVER – Alice Castro, age 90, passed away on March 1, 2017 at Catholic Memorial Home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Antonio Castro. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late Manuel B. and Mary (Motta) Andrade. Alice was known to be a great cook and baker. She was especially dedicated to her husband and family.
Along with her husband Alice is survived by her children David Castro (wife Carol) of Tiverton, RI, Jay Anthony Castro (wife Helen) of Fall River and Roberta Dobbins (husband Paul) of VA; sister Maria Rogers of Somerset; 3 grandchildren Noah, Katharine and Christopher; 2 great-grandchildren Arianna and Carter. As well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Stella Bucher and Leonora DeMello.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Tuesday at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Name Church at 9 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Monday from 4-7 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
