Obituary

Carlos N. Dominguez, 87, of Ventura, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2017.
Mr. Dominguez was born December 29, 1929 in El Centro, California and was a a Ventura County resident for the past 50 years.
Carlos proudly served 21 years in the U.S. Army. Carlos was stationed in Korea where he served for 2 years during the Korean War. He was then transferred and stationed in Panama where he served for 7 years, followed by being stationed in Germany where he served for 4 years. While being stationed in Germany, two of his sons, Danny Dominguez and Carlos Dominguez were born in Nuremberg. His third son, Jerry Dominguez, was born in Ft. Hood, Texas.
Carlos also made a career as a truck driver for 20 years, working for Weber Bread Company in Oxnard and was a member of the United Teamsters Union. In addition, Carlos worked as a custodian for 20 years, working for the Ventura Unified School District.
Carlos enjoyed going to Yuma, Arizona to visit and spend time with his grandson.
He would always actively help the needy with gifts and food. Carlos always enjoyed the Los Angeles Dodgers and an ice cold beer.
Carlos is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Isabel Lopez Dominguez; his son, Carlos Dominguez and his life partner Maiya McLean of Ventura; his sister, Frances Vega, of Santa Paula; and his grandchildren, Daniel and Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Danny and Jerry Dominguez; his sister, Josephina Duran of Santa Paula; and his brother Alex Dominguez of Yuma, Arizona.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura. Military Honors will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura. Arrangements are under the care of JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main St., Ventura.
