Shirley A. (Witham) Hyde, 84, of Haverhill, NH, passed away on Monday February 27, 2017 at the Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH. She was born in Dummer, NH on February 7, 1933 the daughter of Jerome H. and Lorina (Hawkins) Witham and was raised in Dummer. She graduated from Berlin High, received her BS from Keene State and received her Masters from UNH. Shirley began her teaching career in Berlin and later taught in Concord and Somersworth, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the UNH Alumni, the Keene State Alumni, was a past member of the Milan Community Methodist Church and the League of NH Craftsmen. Shirley was an avid reader and especially enjoyed National Geographic. She also enjoyed doing Sudoku and doing crafts. She once had her own craft business; Hugger Buggers in Northwood, NH.
Family includes her children Angelina Smith and husband Robert of Haverhill, NH, Thomas Carozza and wife Yocasta of Merrimack, NH and Gina Filides of Palm Harbor, FL; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother Charles Witham of Charlestown, NH; sister Muriel Lindsay of Milan, NH; several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a grandson Reuben Filides.
Funeral Services will be held at the Word of God Christian Church, Dummer, NH on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 1 PM. Spring interment will be in the Willis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE, 68010.
