Luella (Folder) Handy, age 68, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, February 22, 2017 at her home. She was the loving wife for 47 years of the late Alfred L. Handy, Sr., and mother of the late Alfred L. Handy, Jr. Luella was born in Springfield, GA, daughter of the late Freddie L. and Annabel (Jackson) Folder. She was raised in Baltimore and Jessup, MD and had been a resident of Brockton since 1978. Luella retired as a branch manager from BayBank where she had been employed for almost 20 years, and enjoyed her second career at the Brockton Enterprise, retiring in 2006. She loved to go boating and fishing with her husband Al; was an avid Patriots fan and enjoyed golfing, sewing, photography, bingo and floral crafts.
Luella was the sister of Gloria Jean Jackson and her husband Kenneth of Syracuse, NY, Janie B. Sanders of Jessup, MD, Adam J. Folder and his wife Cynthia of Baltimore, MD, and Jeannette Folder of Laurel, MD; niece of Adam Folder, Jr. of Clyo, GA and sister in law of Janel Lucas of Milton, Leona Flint of Everett, Robert Handy of Santa Cruz, CA, Claudia Gabriel of Malden, Naomi Turner of Everett, Maple Folder of Baltimore, MD and the late James Handy. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Thursday 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10:30am, followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
