Robert J. (RED) Fowkes, 81, of Bridgewater passed away on February 26th surrounded by his family, after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Wilson) Fowkes for 45 years.
He was born in South Boston, son of the late John A. and Bessie (Dever) Fowkes. He honorably served in our armed forces from 1955-1957.
Bob was a letter carrier for the United States Post Off for 35 years, retiring in 1991.
He will be remembered and sadly missed by his large family and many friends at the Life Care Center in Raynham, where he resided for the last several years.
His funeral services will be held on March 2nd at 11:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St (Rte 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a burial in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1:45PM . His visitation will be prior to his service from 9:00- 11:00AM.
