Donna P. Trussell, 73, of ,Methuen, MA, passed away February 25, 2017 at the Lawrence General Hospital.
Donna was born and raised in Lawrence to the late Anthony and Anna (Sapienza) Caccese. She attended school at John R. Rollins Grammar School and attended Lawrence High School. She was also a member of the Pontiac Drum & Bugle Corps. After high school Donna married her beloved husband, Robert, on October 11, 1963 at the Holy Rosary Church in Lawrence, MA. She and her husband then settled in Methuen to raise their family. Donna worked for many years until her retirement as a nurse's aide at Mary Immaculate, Nevins Nursing Home and Holy Family Hospital. She was a woman that loved to socialize with her inner circle of friends, enjoying the occasional meal with them and was a devoted New England sports fan. Donna’s compassion was to her two pugs, Dexter and Minnie. She was a woman who truly helped those in need and she will be missed by all of those she loved.
Donna is survived by her three loving children; her son Robert J. Trussell, Jr. of Lawrence, her son, Paul C. Trussell and his wife Wendy of Methuen, and her daughter Tracy Devine and her husband Shawn of Salem, NH. Donna was the cherished grandmother to her six grandchildren, Anthony, Taylor, Eden, James, Nathan, and Riley. She was the dear sister to Louise Santomassimo of Lawrence, and the beloved aunt to John Santomassimo, Jr. In addition to being preceded in death by her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J Trussell, Sr., with whom she celebrated 49 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Gina Marie Trussell, and her brother-in-law, John Santomassimo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours for Donna Thursday, March 2, 2017, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 3, 2017, 10:00 AM at the Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church, 34 Common St, Lawrence, MA. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street, Methuen, MA.
