James A. Marsden, 54, of Litchfield, NH, died Friday February 24, 2017 in his home. He was born in Revere, MA on September 13, 1962, a son of the late Clarence and Lorraine (Travers) Marsden. He had been a resident of Litchfield since 2000, formerly living in Franklin, NH, Billerica, MA and many years in Wakefield, MA, where he graduated from Wakefield High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the Air Force, and then enlisted in the Navy where he served as a SEAL, specializing in underwater demolition. Jim enjoyed geo-caching, as well as ATV-ing and was a member of the NH ATV Club. He was an avid NE Patriots fan. Jim was a member and Deacon at the Litchfield Community Church Presbyterian.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Guiliani) Marsden of Litchfield; his daughter, Stephanie Marsden of Litchfield; four siblings, Edward Marsden of Dedham, MA, Sharon Stump of Mississippi, Daniel Marsden of Londonderry, NH, and Scott Marsden of Somerville, MA.
Following cremation, a graveside service was held on Wednesday, March 1st at 11:00am in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH. A memorial service was held at 2:00pm in the Litchfield Community Church Presbyterian, 259 Charles Bancroft Hwy., Litchfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Litchfield Community Church Presbyterian Deacon's Fund, 259 Charles Bancroft Hwy., Litchfield, NH 03052. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
