Antonio Arena, 87

Antonio “Tony” Arena, age 87, formerly of Foxboro and Franklin, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Sachem Center for Health and Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce E. (Everson) Arena.
Born in Boston, MA on October 10, 1929, he was a loving son of the late Joseph and Angela Arena.
As a baby, Tony’s parents returned to Messina, Sicily in Italy where he grew up and was educated. In 1952, he returned to the United State and settled in Foxborough where he lived for many years and raised his family. He had also resided in Franklin.
Tony was a retired chef with incredible cooking skills. Before retiring, he had been employed at the Foxborough Country Club, and previously worked at the former Twin Lantern Restaurant, the former Lord Fox Restaurant and many years at the former Mario’s Restaurant in Plainville.
Tony loved spending time with his adoring family. His hobbies included playing bocce, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his devoted children Nancy Pulsone of Pawtucket, RI and Robert J. Arena and his wife Kym of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Debbie White and her husband of Andy of Attleboro, Angela Pulsone of Pawtucket, RI, Jason Arena and his fiancé Colleen of Plainville, Kaisey Arena of Andover, NH and the great grandfather of Avery White of Attleboro and Alissia Pulsone of Pawtucket, RI. He was the dear brother of the late Pasquale Arena and Laura Risitano.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a celebration of his life on Tuesday, February 28th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at his son’s home at 8 Fordham Drive in Norton.
