Obituary

Daniel Marrone, 93, of Sandown, NH, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017, in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Dedham, MA on August 16, 1923, a son of Felix and Evelyn Marrone, and had been a resident of Sandown for the past 40 years. Mr. Marrone was a member of the Greatest Generation and embodied this in his humble and hard-working nature. Mr. Marrone served proudly in the U.S Army during WWII and was involved in the D-day Landing. He, like his father, worked for the New Haven Railroad which operated all around New England. He later went on to be employed by Rapid Service Press in Boston, MA and Concord Litho as a graphic arts offset stripper. He was a fantastic artist and took great pride in his art and even gained a Certificate of Art.

He is survived by his son, Daniel P. Marrone of Sandown and his sister, Louise Marrone of Dedham, MA. Mr. Marrone is predeceased by his beloved wife of 48 years, Justine Marrone.

A calling hour was held on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 9:30 – 10:30am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St. Derry. Funeral services followed in the funeral home at 10:30am. The burial will be held in the spring in Great Hill Cemetery, Rt. 121A, Chester, NH.
