Hopkins, Veronica M. Of Dedham went home to the Lord on February 21, 2017 at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her husband Francis Sr., her son Richard, her granddaughter Lauren Elias, as well as three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son Francis and his wife Ann, daughter-in-law Judith, as well as grandchildren Theresa Carter of Easton, Arlene Mulrey of Walpole, Brian Hopkins of Dedham, Pamela Zito of Glen Arm, MD, Elizabeth Reid of Culpeper, VA., Daniel Hopkins of Cary, NC, and several loved nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Mother was a faithful communicant at Saint Mary's Catholic Church for over sixty years. Her Marian devotions included praying the Holy Rosary every day for over fifty years. As a loving wife, mother and homemaker she provided a safe, encouraging and happy home life for her two sons as well as for a period of time the children of two sisters who were experiencing challenging difficulties in their lives.
Visitation at the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, Wednesday, March 8 from 9:30-10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham at 11:00am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, West Roxbury. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at the German Center for Extended Care and in particular Eileen Flynn and Lindsey Wilson for their loving care of Veronica.
