Obituary

Linda J. (McEntee) Swallow, 67, of Mansfield, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 23, 2017. She leaves behind her loving husband of 47 years, Fred. She also leaves behind her twin children – Sara of Mansfield and Jeff of Smithfield, R.I. and a sister, Emily, who lives in North Carolina.
She was the former librarian at Qualters Middle School in Mansfield for 31 years – retiring several years ago.
Born in Newton, Mass. on August 24, 1949 and raised in Westwood, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Dr. Thomas and Jean McEntee. She attended the University of Maine, where she met her husband. She was an extremely gifted quilter – an active member of many quilting clubs and enjoyed her getaways with her quilting friends. She was fond of making quilts for friends and family to celebrate special occasions.
A devoted and loving wife and mother – her greatest love was the role of being Nana to her grandchildren Jackson and Madison of Smithfield. Whether it was taking Jackson to Star Wars movies or Madison on shopping trips or being a constant presence at their sports events and activities, she adored them and they loved their Nana.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Services will be private. Donations in her name may be made to the Mansfield Public Library, 255 Hope Street, Mansfield, MA 02048.
