Janice Elizabeth Vaughn, age 83, died Thursday, February 23, 2017 at her home in Water Valley, MS. She was born October 15, 1933 in Abbeville, MS to the late Calvin Jackson and Anna Lee Dart Watson. Janice retired from Holley Carburetor where she worked as Test Stand. She was an active and faithful member of Anchor Baptist Church and received her Spiritual Birth in November, 1965. Janice served as a Sunday School teacher and enjoyed ladies visitation. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed gospel music. Janice was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 am until 12:30 pm on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. A graveside service will follow the visitation in the Oak Hill Cemetery at 1:00 pm with Bro. Don Dewberry and Bro. Bud McCluskey officiating. Jeremy McCluskey, Aaron Dewberry, Chris McCluskey, Copeland Vaughn, Austin McCluskey and Will McCluskey will serve as pallbearers. Tyler Myers, Chancellor Dewberry and Nate Edwards will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Janice is survived by her daughters, Vicky Dewberry (Don), and Wanda McCluskey (Bud) all of Water Valley, MS; her son, Kenny Vaughn of Water Valley, MS; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George “Pie” Vaughn; two sisters, Beulah Bowles and Dorothy Russell; and six brothers, Thomas Watson, Melvin Watson, J. D. Watson, Earl Watson, Calvin Watson and Rubert Watson.
