Jeanette M. Barrie 90, of Second Ave., died February 21, 2017 at Oakland Grove Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Normand L. Barrie. Born in Blackstone, MA she was a daughter of the late Arthur and G. Anna (Beaudoin) Mercier. Jeanette was the housekeeper for the Sacred Heart Parish Rectory for eighteen years before she retired twenty eight years ago. She was a member of the Golden Heart Senior Club and served as the Chaplain and Activities Chairperson. She was also a member of St. Joseph Senior Citizens.
She is survived by two daughters Paulette Garforth and her husband William of Tiverton and Jo-Ann Rowe and her husband James of North Smithfield; twelve grandchildren, Sharon Demers, Deborah Gagnon, Kristina, Sabrina, Vincent III and Angela Forte, James, Meghan, Patrick, and Brian Rowe, Erin Tiberi, and Derrick Garforth; twelve great-grandchildren, Amanda, Paul, Kayla, Matthew, Stephanie, Alex, Carlie, Vincent, Colin, Anna, Christopher, and Juliana; and her adopted family Margie Morel of Woonsocket, and her five children. She was predeceased by her son Normand Joseph Barrie, daughter Suzanne Forte, brother Lionel Messier, and grandchildren Brittany Fontaine, and Cameron Barrie Rowe.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Olo St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 2-4 PM.
