Jeffrey W. Robert, 45, of Worcester, died suddenly Saturday, February 18th during a Fatbike bike race. He is survived by his parents, William R. and Ruth E. (Clark) Robert of Leicester; his brother, Jonathan E. Robert and his wife, Melanie of North Reading and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeffrey was born in Fort Leonard Wood, MO and proudly served his country with distinction in the United States Marine Corps, serving three tours during Operation Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom I and Iraqi Freedom II attaining the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Jeff had been employed by the former Bicycle Alley and most recently was employed by Landry's Bike Shop as a bike fitter and sales person. He was a passionate rider and extremely proud of his military service. Jeffrey was active in many charitable organizations including working with veterans suffering from PTSD, Breast Cancer Awareness and the Marine Corps, Toys for Tots Program and had also served in the Marine Corps Honor Guard. His passion for cycling was evident to all that met him. He found joy in introducing the sport to new riders and always shared words of encouragement for his fellow riders. A cycling ambassador and a true patriot, he will be sorely missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
