Pietro L. “Peter” Trodella, 79 of Somerville formerly of the North End of Boston died Friday after a brief illness at Eastpoint Nursing Home, Chelsea.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Angelo and Francesca (Casazza) Trodella.
Mr. Trodella was a Custodian, at Sacred Heart Church Boston for 6 years and retired in 1988. He was awarded the Man of the Year in 2000, by the North End Holy Name Society.
Beloved husband of Lena (DiPietro). Devoted father of Rosalie Nesta, Francesca Sullivan and her husband Joseph all of Somerville, Angelo Trodella and his wife Patrice of Woburn. Loving grandfather of Gina, Cristina, Joseph, and Deanna Nesta, Mariana Trodella, and Vincent Sullivan. Brother of Joseph Trodella of East Boston, Angela Melchiono of Somerville, Eugenio Trodella of Italy, and the late Alfredo Trodella. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 8:45 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Leonard Church, Hanover St., Boston, at 9:45 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday 4 thru 9.
Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
