James P. Gallo, an 18 year resident of Saugus and former longtime resident of Somerville, entered into eternal life on Monday, February 20, 2017 at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following an extended illness. He was 78 years old.
James was born in Boston on February 24, 1938, a son of the late Giuseppe Gallo and Thomasina (Grifone) Gallo. James grew up in Somerville where he was educated in the Somerville Public School system. James worked for several local companies in the Somerville and Cambridge areas.
James is the beloved husband of the late Judith L. (Hackett) Gallo. He is the devoted father of James P. Gallo Jr. and his wife Nadine of Newburyport, Linda Gilligan and her husband Robert of Tewksbury, Peter P. Gallo and his wife Susan of Boxford and Paula Gallo and her husband Michael DeLuca of Cranston, Rhode Island. He is the loving Grandfather to Melissa Davis and her husband Aaron, Peter P. Gallo Jr., Christopher Albano and Tory Albano, Randy Gallo and his wife Stephanie, Cory Gallo, James P. Gallo III, Alex DeLuca and his great-grandchildren Gianna Gallo, Nico Gallo, Dante Migliaccio, Dominic Davis, Christopher Albano, Kayleigh Holland, Antonio Gallo and Jaydin Gallo. He is the beloved brother of Peter Gallo of Somerville, Patricia Cresent of Somerville and the late Frank Gallo, Joseph Gallo, Rose Vitale, Angelina Rufo and Nicholas Gallo. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend James Funeral Mass on Friday, February 24, 2017 at 10 A.M. in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield. His burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. There are no funeral home visiting hours.
