NO.BROOKFIELD: Barbara A. (Ward) Spencer 73, of 271 No.Main St., died Saturday, Feb. 18 at her home with her loving husband and family by her side.
She leaves her husband of 45 years, Jerome M. Spencer, her sons David Ward, his wife Darlene of Worcester and James Ward, his wife Robin of Holden, her daughters Shelley Davis, her husband Scott of No.Brookfield, Tracy Spencer, her partner George Bradshaw of Worcester and Jill Araujo, her partner Justin Stoddard of W.Brookfield, and her sister Melody Morales of Worcester. She adored all of her 18 grandchildren and her precious dog Sparky. She is predeceased by both her parents, Everett and Lillian (McDonald) Ward and her godmother, Irene Renner whom she also adored.
Born in Fall River, and raised in Worcester. Barbara was admired by many. She spent many years working in the retail industry. She spent the majority of those years managing the Salvation Army in Spencer before retiring last year. Barbara was not only a loving wife, a wonderful mother, a caring friend, she was the one you could rely on. Her positive words always had a way of making you feel better. Her smile was infectious. Anyone that knew Barbara knows BINGO was her thing. She also loved going to the beach, especially Old Orchard. Her family has lots of fond memories spent there. Her other passion was her knack for antiquing. She spent several years as a merchant at the Charlton Flea Market. We will always remember hearing her say, "I love you more".
Friends and family are asked to attend calling hours on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will be private for the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 5p.m at the Leicester Rod & Gun. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN., 38105.
