Clara Jones Tibbets, 94, of Tifton passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tifton. A private service and burial will be held for Mrs. Tibbets at a later date in Texas.
Born September 29, 1922, in Santo, Texas, Mrs. Tibbets was the daughter of the late Larkin Enoch Jones and Lula Castleman Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton Lesley Tibbets. She was retired as a registered dietician at Knox County Hospital in Texas and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Texas.
Mrs. Tibbets is survived by three sons, Lennis Darwin Tibbets of Bartonville, Texas, Gary Bruce Tibbets of Knox City, Texas and Mark Warren Tibbets of Plainview, Texas; three daughters, Linda Gayle Blair of Chandler, Oklahoma, Sherry Fern Martin of Aspermont, Texas and Leslie Janay Brewer of Tifton, Georgia; two brothers, L. E. Jones, Jr. of Tyler, Texas and Howard Jones of Redding, California; one sister, Maxine Robertson of Indianapolis, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
