Darby Barrington Roberts, 88, of Enigma, Georgia, died, Thursday, February 16, 2017, at the Pruitt Health-Ocilla in Ocilla, Georgia
Funeral services will be held at 2PM, Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Whitley and Elder Robert Tucker officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service Sunday at the church.
Mr. Roberts was born in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Louise Mayo and Benjamin Conner Roberts, Sr. Darby was retired from Williams Brothers in Tifton as General Manger of the Sundries Department. He was a member of Mount Paron Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his children: Don Roberts and wife Debbie of Franklin, North Carolina, Susan R. Whitten and husband Paul of Swansea, South Carolina and Tillman Roberts of Old Town, Florida; a daughter-in-love, Louise Garner Roberts of Enigma, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; sister, Jean R. Edmonds of Old Town, Florida. In addition to his parents, his wife, Melba Ruth Grantham Roberts, a daughter, Alicia Dianne R. Blease and a son Jerry Barrington Roberts preceded him in death along with four brothers, B. C. Roberts, Warren Roberts, Henry T. Roberts, Sammy Roberts and two sisters, Anna Belle R. Bondurant and Alice R. Green.
