Angelo C. Todesca, Jr., in Boca Raton, FL, of Westwood on February 16, 2017. Beloved husband of 61 years to the late Rita Theresa (Polito). Devoted father of Albert M. Todesca and his wife Irene of Westwood, Paul A. Todesca and his wife Reo of Westwood, and Dianne M. Batista and her husband Ricky of Canton. Loving grandfather of Michael Todesca, Paul Todesca Jr. and his wife Gina, Angelo Todesca, Joseph Batista, Cristina Rita Batista and the late Albert M. Todesca, Jr. Great-grandfather of Paul Todesca III and Gia Marie Todesca.
Brother of the late Antonio Todesca, Charles Todesca, Sr., Millie DiNapoli, and Albert J. Todesca, Sr.
Funeral on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 8:30 AM from the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway (near Cummins Highway), ROSLINDALE, followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name Church, 1689 Centre Street, West Roxbury at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8pm & on Friday from 4-8pm.
Mr. Todesca may also be remembered through the Albert M. Todesca, Jr. Memorial Fund, 385 Weatherbee Dr., Westwood, MA 02090.
Entombment in St. Michael Cemetery Roslindale.


Obituary for Angelo C. Todesca, Jr.
Iconic Boston Contractor for 70 years

Angelo C. Todesca, Jr. of Westwood died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Boca Raton, Fla. He was 90.
Mr. Todesca was born and raised in Roslindale.
He started working for the City of Boston with the construction engineering division right out of high school.
In 1946, he joined the Boston based family contracting company Angelo Todesca Corp. and it became one of the renowned general contractors in the city.
He was active in all phases of the business and a proud union member for over 45 years. He loved operating equipment. He remained very involved in the business and continued to visit projects daily even at age 90.
He was a resident in Humarock Beach, enjoyed spending the summers there and was president of the Humarock Civic Association. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida, golfing, and his daily trip to the pier.
Mr. Todesca was very active in politics and ran for City Council in Boston of 1959.
He had an extended family at the 50’s Diner in Dedham where he visited daily. He was proud of his hertitage and enjoyed his trips to Italy where he met with his family in their home town of Avellino.
Husband to the late Rita (Polito) for 61 years, he is survived by two sons, Albert M. of Westwood and Paul A. of Westwood; a daughter, Dianne M. Batista of Canton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am Saturday at Holy Name Church, West Roxbury.
Entombment in St. Michael Cemetery, Roslindale.
