SOMERSET – Diamentina “Di” (Lima) Machado of Somerset, passed away on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Rogers Machado, a proprietor of the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, and the daughter of the late John & Alexandrina (Cordeiro) Lima. She had worked in sales at the former Hollywood Shop, Cherry & Webb Department Store and Peerless Department Store. She also worked side by side with her husband and son at the funeral home.
Di was a parishioner of St. John of God Church and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality and the Women’s Guild. She was an active participant in the church feasts.
She is survived by her son: Kenneth Rogers Machado and his wife Carol Machado of Seekonk; her grandson: Matthew Kenneth Machado; her sister: Rosalina Amarello; her nieces & nephews: Pamela, Robert, & David Lima, Gail Dybowski, Joyce Moscovich, Carol Gainsford & Joan Machado. She was the sister of the late John Lima Jr., Dennis, Antone “Hap”, Mary Lima, & Alexandrina “Al” Dybowski.

Her Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd at 9:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church, Brayton Ave. Somerset at 11:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on Tuesday, Feb. 21st from 5-8 P.M.
