Eleanor M. Formalarie, 89, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday February 15, 2017, in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. She was born in Waltham, MA on May 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Seth and Evelyn (Kelly) Thomas. Eleanor, Ellie, Auntie, Mom, Grammy was born and raised in Waltham, MA. She traveled and lived in Alabama, Florida and Vermont, with her loving husband, Colin, while he was in the Air Force in the 50’s, before settling back in MA after discharge; then moving to Tulsa, OK for 15 years and finally returning to New England, living in Derry, NH since 1989. She loved telling stories of her Air Force and Tulsa adventures. She had a passion for reading, especially historical and biographical novels. She loved Boston sports teams, reading the Boston Globe every day, and watching golf on TV. Her family was the most important thing in her life. She loved, and was loved by all of her extended family.
She is survived by her son, Craig Formalarie and his wife Janet of Londonderry, NH, a daughter, Gail Tate and her husband Keith of Tomball, TX, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one sister, Muriel Fisher of Waltham, MA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A funeral service wias held on Tuesday at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial followed at 2:00pm in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
