Family was everything to Joanne: the family she was related to, the family she chose, and the friends who she considered family. She was a woman who served God, her loved ones, her students and the less fortunate.
She was born on November 5, 1942, in Salem, MA, the daughter of the late Omer C. Beaupre and the late Jeannette M. (Arsenault) Beaupre. From an early age, Joanne dedicated herself to her Catholic faith and to helping others. She graduated in 1961 from Ste. She earned her bachelor’s degree in 1972 at Annhurst College in CT and a master’s degree in 1977 from St. Michael’s College in VT. She later took a year’s sabbatical and studied spirituality in Rome before returning to live at the House of Prayer in Newport, RI. In 1984, she transitioned from religious life and moved to Fall River, MA, where she continued her dedication to children as Director of Guidance at Bishop Feehan and later at Bishop Fenwick in Peabody, MA. Upon her retirement, she worked at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem and volunteered at Care Dimensions in Danvers, caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease.
On November 5, 2005, she married Jerome (Jerry) Judge of Salem whom she loved and adored. She is also survived by Jerry’s children, Aaron Judge and his wife, Pamela, of South Hadley, MA, and Amy DeLong and her husband, Charlie, of West Roxbury, MA; two grandchildren, Kyle DeLong and Jeffrey Judge; her brothers, Dick Beaupre and his wife, Karin, of South Carolina; Robert Beaupre and his wife, Nancy of Lynn; and Paul Beaupre and his wife, Rose, of Amesbury; her sisters in law, Diane Campbell and her husband, Steven, of New Hampshire, and Susan Judge, of New Hampshire; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
