Antoinette M. Costa, 53, of East Freetown passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday February 13, 2017.
Born in Taunton, the daughter of Anthony N. Costa and the late June (Pina) Costa, she lived in Freetown for most of her life.
Antoinette was involved in the social work industry in this area for many years.
She received her Bachelor's degree from Morgan State University and her Master's Degree from Rhode Island College.
In her younger years she was involved in beauty and talent pageants and was proudly crowned Miss Taunton Cape Verdean and Miss Morgan State.
She is survived by her father, Tony; her grandson, Tristen Marc Shaw; her siblings, Michael J. Costa and his wife Karen, Cynthia Thompson, and Lisa Rose; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Dominick Anthony Shaw.
Her Funeral will be held on Saturday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park Street, New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
