Cherian, Avedis of Belmont, February 14, 2017. Beloved husband of Verkin (Boyadjian) Cherian. Devoted father of Rita Cherian Dulgarian and her husband Gregory. Loving grandfather (Baboug) of Andrew and Mark. Brother of Marie, Kevork and Ohannes Cherian and Takouhi Baltayan. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral service at Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church, 200 Lexington Street, Belmont on Saturday, February 18 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation period will be held at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Saturday morning from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., immediately prior to the church service. Avedis was a graduate of Mekhitarist Monastery in Venice, Italy. Avedis subsequently attended Gregorian University in Rome, Italy. He began his career at KLM Airlines followed by working at the American Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon where he mastered his skills in graphic design. Avedis was a renaissance man who was able to speak more than 10 languages fluently. Most importantly Avedis was a man of great Faith. He was a devout Armenian Catholic and dedicated most of his life in service to his church. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church, Belmont. Interment at Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
