Obituary

Mary Ann Foley, 85, formerly of Canterbury Street passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Worcester, May 2, 1932, Mary Ann was the daughter of John J. and Anna {Kelley} Foley. She was the sister of John J. Foley and of William J. Foley, and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Educated in Worcester, Mary Ann was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Worcester, Ma. for many years.
Mary Ann will be forever remembered by the Canterbury Street School Community for her 50 plus years of service as the school crossing guard. Honored by an article in the Worcester Telegram and Gazette Mary Ann was known for loving those students as if they were her own children. “When Mary Ann whistled, they all would stop, look, and listen.” Her whistle would put on a smile on those who loved and knew her. Mary Ann also was an avid and devout New England Sports fan with a special place in her heart for the Boston Bruins.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Holy Trinity for the love, care, and compassion given to Mary Ann during her time there. They were considered her extended family which we know she was forever grateful for.
Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Mary Ann’s life on Tuesday, February 21, from 9: 30 to 10: 30 at Callahan-Fay-Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11am in St. Peter’s Church. 931 Main Street, in Worcester, Ma. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Church in Mary Ann’s memory.
