Ann Marie O'Sullivan (Fitzgerald), 73, of Quincy, August 30, 2005.
A devoted wife and mother - she was married to the late Alfred E. O’Sullivan for 51 years.
Her life centered around her devotion to her husband, Al, her 10 children and 16 grandchildren and her strong faith.
She was born in Rockland and raised in Merrymount. She graduated from Quincy High School and then went on to graduate Salutatorian from St. Elizabeth’s Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She had a love of the beach as she lived by the ocean all through her life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at her summer home on Cape Cod.
After 20 years of raising her children, she went back to work as a RN at John Adams Nursing Home in Quincy. She served in various capacities and often shared her faith by leading the residents in the Rosary. She retired in 1995 as Staff Development In Service Director.
She was an active member of the following parishes: St Jeromes Church, No.Weymouth; St Ann’s Church, Wollaston; St John’s Church, Quincy. Over the years, she served as a Eucharist minister, CCD teacher and coordinator, lector and parish council member. She also served many ministries over the years as a member of the St. Joseph’s Kingdom of God prayer community in Quincy.
Ann is predeceased by her beloved husband Al, son Alfred of Hanover, her parents, Miriam and Henry Fitzgerald and one brother, Henry of Newton.
She is survived by 9 children: Michael of Bow, NH; Maryanne of Somerset; Mark of Pembroke; Eileen Dunn of Hanover; Paul of So. Weymouth; Sheila of Quincy; Patrick of Hanover; Anne Winkler of Santa Fe, NM; Christine Trainer of Norwalk, CT, 16 grandchildren and 3 sisters, Ruth Rugg of Quincy, Constance Sances of Hingham, Miriam MacKenzie of Foxboro and 2 brothers Mark Fitzgerald of Florida and Bob Fitzgerald of Maine.
Visiting hours Thursday, 2pm – 4pm and 6pm – 9pm at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 11 AM at St. Ann’s Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. Wollaston, Friday at 10 AM
Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
