Gladys McCranie Barlow, 89, of Tifton passed away Monday, February 13, 2017, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Hughes officiating. Mrs. Barlow will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 16, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Tyler Ray, Christopher Barlow, Alexander Barlow, Justin Golden, Will Meredith, Chad Bridges, Mark Thompson and Brooks Brodie will serve as pallbearers.
Born December 9, 1927 in West Palm Beach, Florida, Mrs. Barlow was the daughter of the late George McCranie and Lou Jessie Holland McCranie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Barlow; two sons-in-law, Dennis Golden and Tom Ray; and two brothers. She was retired from Avondale Mills and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Tifton. She loved gardening and previously won Garden Spot of the Month. She was a past volunteer at the Leroy Rogers Senior Center and taught aerobics. She was also involved in social planning at Village Square Apartments.
Mrs. Barlow is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Roger and Celia Barlow of Tifton and Danny and Kim Barlow of Jacksonville, Florida; four daughters and a son-in-law, Wanda Golden and Gwendolyn Parks, both of Tifton, Charlene and Scott Hyde of Brunswick and Debra Ray of Jacksonville, Florida; 13 grandchildren, Daphne Thompson, Allison Bridges, Justin Golden, Taylor Barlow, Rebecca Barlow, Theresa Nail, Tyler Ray, Amber Nicole Brodie, Stephanie Parks, Christopher Barlow, Alexander Barlow, Brandy Meredith and Madison Hyde; and 20 great-grandchildren.
