Christina M. (Morse) Nicholson, age 93, of Methuen, passed away peacefully on February 6. 2017 at Halcyon House in Methuen after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Methuen to Frank and Helen (Noone) Morse, she was one of five children and was educated in Methuen Public Schools. For many years, Christina worked at the Arlington Trust Co. and was also a seasonal employee of the Internal Revenue Service. Christina was a woman of great faith and was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Church and a member of the Women’s Sodality.
Growing up, Christina had fond memories of staying at the beach with her cousin Mildred and years later, enjoyed her beach day trips with family members. For many years, she and her “Nick” would have a yearly ritual staying in Ogunquit, ME in the same location and the same room. Her most important commitment was to her family which brought her joy and she leaves them with many great memories of her and her love for them.
Christina was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Nicholson. She was the beloved mother of the late Francine Nicholson, and the late Howard M. Nicholson whom she will be reunited with once again. She was the loving grandmother of Troy Nicholson, and Heather Nicholson of Methuen. Christina is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Lyn Nicholson of Methuen and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Halcyon House in Methuen for the loving and compassionate care Christina received.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Saturday, February 18, 2017 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A mass of Christian Burial will take place immediately following calling hours, beginning promptly at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel, St. Theresa’s Parish of Methuen. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christina’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472.
