Bernadette C. Lortie
Manchester– Bernadette C. Lortie, 96, died February 10, 2017 at Maple Leaf Healthcare following a brief illness.
She was born in Hooksett on September 24, 1920 the daughter of Rodolphe and Alice (Thibodeau) Duhaime.
Prior to her retirement she had worked for Zayre’s Department store.
She loved knitting and sewing, but most of all spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest A. Lortie on March 29, 2001.
Family members include, 6 daughters; Lucille Erickson and her husband, Anton of Seneca, SC., Pauline Paradis of Raymond, Constance Plourde of Manchester, Elaine Hambleton of Alfred, ME., Peggy Theriault and her husband, David of Loudon, Denise Reed of Manchester, 4 sons; Richard Lortie and his wife, Evie of Port St. Lucie, FL., Dennis Lortie and his wife, Jane of Manchester, Ricky Exley and his wife, Mary of Milford, Brian Exley of Weare. She also leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and 3 sisters, Imelda Walas of Manchester, Carmelle Larochelle of Bedford, Lillian Ouellette and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank the Maple Leaf Health Care Center for the care Bernadette received in her final years.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home,110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Corner of Belmont and Harvard Sts.
Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Hooksett in the spring.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association Hospice 1070 Holt St.. Suite 1400, Manchester NH 03109, or to Maple Leaf Healthcare Activity Department, 198 Pearl St. , Manchester, NH 03104.
