Cynthia J. (Roderick) Sylvia, 72, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday February 8, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late Casmiro E. Sylvia.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Lionel P. "Sam" and Theresa (Brillo) Roderick, she lived in Florida, San Diego, and Dartmouth before returning to New Bedford.
Mrs. Sylvia was formerly employed as a paralegal for the S.E. Mass. Legal Assistance Corporation.
She was a graduate of UMass Dartmouth.
She enjoyed music and knitting.
Survivors include two sons, Byron R. Brown and his wife Ellen and Robert S. Roderick and his wife Felicia; four grandchildren, Katelynde, Andrea, Robert, and Theresa; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Solomon.
She was the sister of the late Betty Elgar.
