LUNENBURG - Linda L. (Gurley) Larsen passed away peacefully February 8, 2017, surrounded by her loving children.
Linda’s life was characterized by her love for her family and generosity. She was born in Winchester on July 15, 1945, daughter of the late Bertram Langley Gurley and Nancy (MacNeill) Degroseilliers. She grew up the eldest of 13. Linda was a member of the first graduating class of Henry’s School of Hair Design. She fulfilled her dream of opening her own salon, Linda’s Hair Place, where she was well loved by both her clients and employees for over 20 years.
Linda is survived by her devoted daughter, Nancy Chapdelaine and her husband, Mark of Lunenburg; her son Darin Storms and his wife, Rhonda of Lunenburg; her step daughters, Jo-Dee Shields of Florida and Julie Robuccio of Lunenburg; her grandchildren, Danielle, Emily and Alicia Chapdelaine, Nico and Gianni Robuccio, Franchesca and Allison Storms and her great granddaughter Sophia Robuccio; her siblings Nancy Reid, Betsy McPhee, Sarah Brown, Suzanne Martelle, James Gurley, Ellie Gurley and Lisa Maki-Rivera; and many nieces and nephews. Linda was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Buster Gurley, Marty Maki, Gail Martikainen, Midge Rintila, and Gary Maki.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Linda L. Larsen Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 292, Lunenburg, MA 01462. The fund will benefit students of Lunenburg High School pursuing a career in cosmetology.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, February 11th from 2:00 to 4:00pm in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Rd., Fitchburg. The family will hold a private burial in the Spring. Arrangements under the direction of Jeffrey J. Frisch, Type 6, Callahan Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
