Charles F. Haskell, Sr., 73, of New Bedford passed away Thursday February 9, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Elmer J. and Laura (Babineau) Haskell, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of his life.
Mr. Haskell was formerly employed as a motor coach driver for Tremblay Bus Company until his retirement.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed saltwater fishing. His favorite expression was "cackaroach."
Survivors include three children, Pamela A. LeBlanc, Charles F. Haskell, Sr., and Karyn M. Haskell, all of New Bedford; eight sisters, Doris Tavares, Florence Gauthier, and Laura Gragg, all of New Bedford, Theresa Lundy of Acushnet, Rose Bohn of Westport, Dorothy Derry of Warwick, RI, Beatrice Meagher of Clearwater, FL, and Patricia Benezra of Naples, FL; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late John Haskell.
