Phelps, Ruth M. (Hooper), 72, passed away February 9, 2017 with family by her side.
She was born to Elbert Sr., and Kathleen (Knight) Hooper on August 14, 1944.
Ruth was a member of Shively United Methodist Church,
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John P. Phelps; three brothers: Elbert Hooper Jr., George Hooper, and infant James Ronie Hooper; three sisters: Louise Mazzoni, Catherine Lindsey, and Mary Kron.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Belinda Beard (Dale), Shaun Phelps (Kara), Kim Pedigo, and Kenneth Phelps; step-children: Gordon Phelps , Olive Herman , and Dennis Phelps ; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Dolly C. Logsdon, and Barbara D. Cooper (Buck).
Funeral services are Monday at 1:00 PM at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. Burial is in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday 2:00-8:00PM, and Monday after 9AM.
