Rodman Lemon, Jr. MD
Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, February 8, 2017, Dr. Rodman Lemon, Jr. 74, husband of Mrs. Judy Lemon.
Dr. Lemon was a devoted Obstetrician/Gynecologist practicing in Augusta for 38 years. His dedication and genuine concern for his patients was evident. He brought thousands of new lives into the world. One of his fondest memories was delivering a set of triplets born at Doctors Hospital.
Dr. Lemon received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University followed by his doctorate at Medical College of Charleston. He completed his internship in Columbus, GA followed by his service in Vietnam, then his residency at Letterman in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Lemon served our country as a medic in the Republic of Vietnam during 1968-1969. He was dedicated to helping his fellow countryman in the fields of Cambodia. While offered the option of going to a safe environment, he chose to stay in the field where he felt he could do the most good. While in the military he obtained the rank of Major and as a result of his service he was honored with many medals for his dedicated and honorable service.
He was a founding member of Westlake Country Club where he shared many happy moments with special friends. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and Clemson Fan.
As his health declined in retirement he found great joy in spending time with family. He never missed a chance to brag on those he cherished the most. His closest friend during the last year was Taco, a sweet little rescue, who watched over Rod daily and gave him many reasons to smile.
Dr. Lemon, Rod, Dad, Roddy, Poppa Doc will be missed by many, but his memory will live on in us forever.
