Dartmouth – Elsie (Espinola) Amaral, age 98 of New Bedford, passed away, on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the wife of the late Manuel S. Amaral and the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Santos) Espinola.
Elsie was born in New Bedford and worked as a stitcher for many years at Longshaw Manufacturing until her retirement.
Her family includes: 1 son: John (Jack) Amaral and his wife Arlene; 4 grandchildren: Mark Amaral and wife, Penny, Scott Amaral and husband Franz Limoges, Cheryl Friedland and husband, Michael and Wendy Rego and her husband, Michael ; 5 great-grandchildren: Ryan Snell and his wife, Nicole, Craig Snell and fiancee Emily Harris, Sarah Snell, Nicholas Rego and Meghan Rego; and 2 great great-grandchildren: Peyton and Austin Snell; 1 sister: Margaret Pacheco as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late George Espinola, John Espinola, Walter Espinola, Edward Espinola and Mary Silva.
In accordance with her wishes Elsie was cremated. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday at 11:30 A.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be prior to her service from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. Burial of cremains will take place immediately following at Rural Cemetery.
