Harris Rowe, 75, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2017, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Greg Hester and the Rev. Lowell Brock officiating. Mr. Rowe will be laid to rest at Landmark Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Randy Stone, Larry Rowe, Mike Rowe, Rob Rowe, Blake Howell and Taylor Stone will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members and friends of the VFW.
Born June 8, 1941 in Alapaha (Berrien County), Mr. Rowe was the son of the late Reford Rowe and Atwell Moore Rowe. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Vivian Stone; four brothers, Robert Rowe, Maxwell Rowe, Ronnie Rowe and Marvin Rowe; and a grandson, Joshua Rowe. Before retiring, he worked as a supervisor at Tifton Aluminum Company for 38 years. He was a DJ at the VFW in Nashville for many years and was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife, Patricia Woodard Rowe of Tifton; one son, Kim Rowe of Moultrie; two step-daughters and their husbands, Darlene and Jeremy Bower of Fort Hood, Texas and Carol Sullivan of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Donnell and Linda Rowe of Astatula, Florida; one sister, Mary Ola Nugent of Willacoochee; and his grandchildren, Bailyn Rowe, Courtney and Richard Clarke, Dustin and Chrys Peacock, Tyler Sullivan and Eli Sumner.
