William D. Beachman, 84, of Medway, died Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Beaumont Nursing & Skilled Rehab Facility in Northbridge. He was the beloved husband of Mildred G. (Balkovic) Beachman for 67 years.
Born in Queens, New York on March 29, 1932, he was the son of the late Henry J. and Katherine (Nicklots) Beachman.
Mr. Beachman was a resident of Medway for over 50 years and proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War.
Retiring at the age of 56, he worked at General Motors in Framingham for 35 years. After retirement, he enjoyed working as a chauffer for many years.
Mr. Beachman was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five children, Keith Beachman of Daytona Beach, FL, William Beachman, II of Worcester, Karen Barnett and her husband Michael of Foster, RI, Scott Beachman of Houston, TX and Cheryl Andre of Medway, six grandchildren, David, Taylor, Jessica, Melissa, Katie and Lindsey and two great-grandsons.
He is also survived by three sisters, Helen Bremner of Florida, Bertha Luby of Arizona and Joan Praslick of New York, one brother Charlie Beachman of New York and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Robert Beachman, Mary Gardner and Rose Clarke.
Burial will take place privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
