Robert David Marden, 47, of Acushnet died Sunday August 28, 2005 at home after a long illness.
Born and raised in New Bedford, he was the son of Herbert Marden of New Bedford and the late Virginia (Baker) Lucio. He lived in Pennsylvania for many years before returning to this area 12 years ago.
Mr. Marden was formerly employed as a corrections officer in Pennsylvania.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1976 until 1980.
Survivors include his father; a son, Robert Marden of Pennsylvania; two daughter, Jennifer Drucker and Kelly Marden, both of Pennsylvania; three brothers, Herbert Marden and Jeffrey Marden, both of New Bedford, and Michael Marden of Maine; two sisters, Diane Pacheco and Carol Williams, both of Acushnet; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Committal Service with Military Honors will be on Thursday at 10:15 AM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours will be at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford on Wednesday August 31, 2005 from 5-8 PM.
