Scott M. Cummings, 52, of New Bedford/East Freetown passed away suddenly on Saturday February 4, 2017. He was the husband of Jennifer (Ardagh) Cummings.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Alicia E. (Mikus) Cummings of East Freetown and the late James Cummings, he was raised in Dartmouth where he was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Scott was employed as a senior quality assurance inspector for Autocam Medical in Plymouth. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Scott and Jenn's beloved Border Collie, Dakota, was an enormous part of their lives and Dakota was always at Scott's side.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sisters, Caryn Cummings of Bristol, RI, Cheryl Charbonneau and her husband John of Acushnet, and Kathleen Oliveira of East Freetown; his nieces and nephew, Meagan Cabral, Jeffrey Charbonneau, Kristen Oliveira, and Julie Oliveira; his great-nephew, Colton James Gilson; and several cousins.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 11, 2017 at 1 PM at St. Bernard's Church, Assonet. Visiting hours will be held on Friday February 10, 2017 from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
