Lawrence – Toksun (Yum) Yim, 88 of Lawrence, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Methuen, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 6, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Wonkyu Yim.
Born in South Korea, she was the daughter of Sunpung and Pangul (Ku) Yum. She worked as a stitcher for Grieco Bros in Lawrence for 14 years until her retirement. She had been a member of the Korean Methodist Church of Salem, NH since 1984. In her free time, she enjoyed participating in church activities and spending time with her family.
Toksun will be deeply missed by her 6 children, Suncha Preston and her husband, Donald of Methuen, Sunhee Morrison and her husband, Kevin of Chelmsford, Chong Kwan Yim and his wife, Ogkyeong of Methuen, Sunok Yim of Seoul, Kate Yim of Raleigh, NC, and Chong Hun Yim and his wife, Ji Young of Andover; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and her sister, Tokpong Tabata of Jacksonville, FL. She is predeceased by her son, Chongtok Yim.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Toksun’s life by gathering for calling hours at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 11 AM - 1 PM. Her funeral service will take place on Friday at 1 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
