New Bedford – Alice G. Botas, age 82 of New Bedford, passed away, on Sunday February 5, 2017 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home. She was the loving daughter of the late Jose and Aurora (Costa) Goes.
She was born in New Bedford, MA, and was a former teacher employed by the New Bedford School Department.
Her family includes: a daughter, Karen A. Costa; a son, Wayne A. Botas; 5 grandchildren, David Lee Botas II, Justin L. Botas, Kristen M. Botas, Neal D. Costa, Alison A. Costa; 1 great-grandchild, Irene C. Costa; 2 sisters, Ida Costa and Caroline Cardoza. She was the mother of the late, David Lee Botas; as well as sister of the late, Beatrice Jackson, Carmin Goes, Belarmina “Belle” Barros, Filinto “Felix” Goes and Auria Andrade Goes.
Her funeral will be Thursday beginning in the funeral home at 8:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday evening from 5 – 8 P.M. Arrangements placed in the care of Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. in New Bedford, MA.
