Ruth B. McCabe, 82, of Gleaner Chapel Road, an employee of the former New England Telephone Company in Providence for 20 years died Sunday in the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Bernard B. McCabe.
A daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Mitchell) Connors she lived in Scituate since 1961 previously living in West Warwick. She was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers, the Scituate Sr. Center and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by two sons, Brian M. and Robert A. McCabe both of Scituate and six grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Bruce B. McCabe and sister of the late Irene, Ethel, Frank Jr., Arthur and Donald Connors, Mildred Nelson and Helen Wells.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 3, at 2:00pm in the North Scituate Baptist Church, 619 West Greenville Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Home & Hospice Care of RI, 169 George Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
