Maureen McEvoy, 52, of Derry, NH died Sunday, February 5th peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. Maureen was born in Bletchley, England on April 17th 1964. She was the beloved wife of Michael McEvoy, the loving mother of Jennifer Olson, her husband Oliver, and Allison O'Grady, her husband Edward, and adoring grandmother of Heidi Olson and Ainsley O'Grady.
Maureen attended Pinkerton Academy and NHTI. She was a tutor, preschool and kindergarten teacher at Calvary Christian School for many years. Her favorite moments were those spent with her family, being on the beach and tending to her garden. Maureen was famous for her beautiful handcrafted gifts, filled with her love and creativity.
She was survived by her mother, Lily Summers, of Manchester, NH and her siblings Sheila Howley, her husband Jack, Leverne Morgan, her husband Timothy, and Raymond Summers, his wife Adrienne, as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews. She also was survived by her mother in-law Nancy Smith, father in-law William McEvoy, his wife Joyce, Marg Duval, sister in-law Jodi Emery, brother in-law James McEvoy, his wife Sheila, and sister in-law Wendy Ford. She leaves a large extended family in England.
Maureen was strong throughout a long hard battle and we are so proud and thankful that she was able to go home to heaven in peace.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service was held at First Assembly of God, 45 Myles Drive, Auburn, NH on Wednesday, February 8th at 1:00pm.
