Raymond Fernan Langevin
ARUNDEL – Raymond Fernan Langevin of Arundel, Maine died peacefully surrounded by his loving
wife and family on Saturday, February 4, 2017 after a long illness.
Ray was born on March 10, 1933 in Biddeford. He was the son of Theode & Eva Langevin. He served in
the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. Early on in his life, he worked in the mills in
Biddeford. He went on to become a police officer and worked the remainder of his career as a truck
driver.
He was a loving father and husband with a great sense of humor and a lifelong commitment to taking
care of his family. He enjoyed golfing, current events, playing volleyball, following his kids’ sports,
biking, spending time with his grandchildren, and following the New England Patriots.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Annette Langevin and their children: Marcel Langevin & his
wife Cathy of Sanford, Norman Langevin & his wife Donna of Biddeford, Phillip Langevin of Lyman,
Michelle Gardner & her husband Tobin of Brewer, Charles Langevin of Shapleigh, Gerald Langevin & his
wife Nancy of Arundel, Jeffrey Langevin of New Hampton, NH, and Frederick Fredette & his wife
Brenda of South Carolina. His adoring grandchildren: Christopher Harris, Maegan Langevin, Matthew
Langevin, Nicole Linnie, Hallee Langevin, Jake Langevin, Emma Langevin, Cole & Connor Smith, Jarod
Sands, Shantelle MacDonald, Jamie Nemet, William & Lance Hanna. Two great grandchildren: Hunter
& Audrey Linnie. He is also survived by three sisters: Jeannette Rousseau, Aline Verville and Simone
Estrella.
Ray’s family thanks his physicians of 30+ years: Richard Lemay, MD and Paul Meadows, MD. We wish
them well in their retirements. We would like to thank the V.A. and Hospice Services of Southern
Maine for the wonderful services that allowed him to stay in the home that he loved, and the Gosnell
Hospice House in Scarborough for their wonderful care and support.
A private graveside military funeral will be held at the V.A. Cemetery in Springvale on May 8, 2017 for
immediate family. A memorial celebration of his life is being planned for later in the spring.
